A few years ago I got a rather unspecified assignment – to create a picture with the GIRAFFE radar on a big american ship. I responded I needed some more information … they said: “try to create a picture that Americans like!”.
I made a bit of dramatic image with the GAMB mounted on the U.S. Aircraft Carrier Nimitz (CVN-68). Later I found out the image was used in the campaign for selling the radar to the whole Nimitz class!!! Someone said it was used on a complete page in Jane’s Defence Weekly but I havn’t seen it (if it exists).
After the deal was signed, I got this notebook in the mail however 🙂
I’m a bit disappointed that the proportions of the image is somewhat twisted.
