In times of trouble, call for more tanks!
A panzer-interested friend turns 50 this year and I thought about giving him a panzer-related present. At 40 I think I gave him a custom made T-72 T-shirt and at 30 I believe he got a T-72 model. But since then, Russia has shown it’s true colors so I thought I’d better promote the German/Swedish Strv 122 instead.
I started out doing a line art drawing (as part of the The Covid-19 Coloring Book) but got more and more inspired of the forest when reviewing paintings of the great Swedish artist John Bauer (1882 – 1918). So, highly inspired by his work, this gate keeping Strv 122 in a dark forest, turned out.
The original idea was to make a T-shirt but this image simply has to much brown in it. Therefore, I have made a Green Man (Type O Negative) tribute variant with some background halftone pattern. Check out both posters and T-shirts at Disinformed Prints.
It remains to be seen if the design works as a T-shirt print. I haven’t received my copy yet. I’ll get back with a photo!
